Digtal Image 2016 In this image the coffee cup and handle are still visible. Looking into my cup, seeing the moon rise.

Digital image 2016 Reading the coffee grounds in my daily cup of coffee, I was inspired to photograph the designs that formed in the bottom of my cup.

Acrylic paint, charcoal, ink on unstretched canvas 20x16 11/9/2016 When I woke up this morning on 11/9/16 I kept thinking, …. What is happening…..what will happen…..and I saw images in my mind's eye of horrible events occurring in our country.

Acrylic paint, paper on canvas 29x20 inches 3/31/2017 An image of the Statue of Liberty on a small boat, in the midst of a huge Storm. The ocean raging, about to swallow up the tiny boat/coffin and plunge it to the depths. I chose a decayed and discarded blank canvas for this painting. I found this canvas on the sidewalk, in a pile of discarded junk.

Charcoal/ pastel, acrylic paint on canvas 29x20 inches 2/2/2017 On this canvas I started with patches of bright colors, the center left open. In the center I used charcoal and chalk pastels to mark up the space - conveying a feeling of chaos, loss of control, but the forcefulness of anger. Then I went in with black paint, globbed up with other colors, and covered the colorful patches. Overall, I wanted to convey the anger and terror I felt at the heavy, opaque curtain that was descending.

Acrylic paint, paper, charcoal on unstretched canvas 20x16 inches Men on horses ride in to attack me as I lay sleeping under a tree. Half asleep, I see they are throwing or shooting things at me. When I look out, to my horror I see they have thrown big rats at me. I try to stay hidden under my thin blanket, but feel stricken. I hear them ride off - I look out from under the blanket to see the rats have turned into big snakes and they are slithering away from under my blanket. I'm terrified.
